How I use AI, and how I don't
the glue stick is a tool; the scrapbook is still mine…
Short version: AI helps me plan pages. I write them.
This site exists to document my trips, the places I've actually stood, the food I've actually eaten, the festivals I'd actually fly back for. None of that can be generated, because it happened to me. So the words on every guide are mine, written the old-fashioned way, from my own notes, photos, and memory.
what I use AI for 🧭
- Brainstorming: figuring out what people are actually curious about before a trip: the questions they search, the details other guides skip.
- Planning what to include: outlining which sections a guide needs so I don't forget the parking situation or the bag policy while I'm busy writing about the sunrise.
- Research legwork: pulling together dates, prices, and logistics for me to verify.
what I never use it for ✍️
- The writing, every sentence in every guide is typed by me. No generated paragraphs, no AI rewrites.
- The experiences, if a tip is on this site, I learned it in person. If a restaurant is here, I ate there.
- The opinions, what's worth your time and money is my call, made standing there.
Why draw the line there? Because this scrapbook is a record of my life on the road, and a record only means something if it's true.
