how this scrapbook pays for its glue…
Short version: some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book a stay, buy gear, or grab tickets through one of them, I may earn a small commission. It never costs you anything extra, the price is exactly the same as going direct.
Those commissions are what keep this site online: the hosting, the domain, and ideally the next flight. Think of it as a tip jar that only fills up when a recommendation actually helps you.
what I promise 🤝
- I only link what I use: if a hostel, backpack, or booking site is on this blog, it earned its place on an actual trip, not because of a commission rate.
- Opinions aren't for sale: no brand gets to edit a guide, and a bad experience gets written up as a bad experience, affiliate or not.
- No extra cost to you: you pay the same price either way; the commission comes out of the seller's pocket, not yours.
what that looks like 🔍
- Bookings & stays: links to hotels, hostels, and experience platforms may be affiliate links.
- Gear: packing lists and gear mentions can link to retailers who pay a referral fee.
- Tickets: festival and event ticket links are sometimes affiliate links when the seller offers a program.
If a page ever feels like an ad instead of a field note, call me on it, that's not the scrapbook I'm trying to make. And if you'd rather skip the affiliate links entirely, searching for any place I mention works just as well; I'll still be glad the guide helped.
